Privacy Policy — Ping Tools Pro

Last updated: September 4, 2026

Ping Tools Pro is a network diagnostics application developed by GO GENERAL SERVICES. It does not require the user to create an account. The app creates an anonymous Firebase session so operational events can be isolated and deleted.

Data accessed and purpose

The app may process on the device the active Wi-Fi SSID and BSSID, signal strength, frequency, channel, security capabilities, link speed, local IP, gateway, DNS servers, nearby Wi-Fi scan results and Android neighbor-table entries. Android may require the Nearby Wi-Fi Devices permission and, on every supported Android version, the precise location permission to return Wi-Fi scan results (on Android 13 and later, both are required together). Ping Tools Pro itself does not use Wi-Fi data to determine or track physical location. However, when the location permission is granted, the advertising SDKs described below may access the device's precise location; see “Sharing, advertising, security and responsible use”.

Local discovery sends minimal traffic inside the current private network. The app may display local IP, MAC, interface and neighbor state. A manual scan of common TCP ports is available only for the detected private-network router. The app does not inspect files, messages, traffic content or Wi-Fi passwords.

The app also listens for mDNS and SSDP/UPnP announcements broadcast by devices on the local network to improve how discovered devices are labeled, such as a friendly name and device type. The only network request this involves is to the announcing device's own local description URL for SSDP; no data is sent to an external server.

External services

The app contacts ipwho.is to show public IP and ISP. When manufacturer identification is requested, a MAC prefix may be sent to api.macvendors.com. These providers necessarily receive the requesting public IP. The complete local network inventory is not sent to either service.

Operational metrics, retention and deletion

Ping Tools Pro sends Firebase an anonymous session identifier, app version, platform, event identifier and time, and allowlisted feature-use events for analytics, reliability and abuse prevention. It does not send SSID, BSSID, MAC addresses, local or public IP addresses, passwords, physical location, open-port numbers or the local network inventory as metrics. Test events are separated from production aggregates. Raw rows cannot be read by the mobile client; administrative aggregates require authorized access.

Operational events are removed on a best-effort basis, generally within 30 days of collection. In Settings, users can delete metrics associated with the current anonymous app session at any time. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes local preferences but may prevent identification of previously submitted events; contact support in that case.

Sharing, advertising, security and responsible use

Ping Tools Pro shows ads served by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), in App Open, Interstitial, Rewarded and Native formats. An App Open ad may appear when the app is launched or brought back to the foreground, an Interstitial ad may appear after a user finishes a network analysis, and a Rewarded ad may be required to unlock or repeat certain features. Depending on user consent and region, ads may be personalized or non-personalized; showing them involves standard AdMob SDK data collection, such as device and advertising identifiers and ad-interaction data, handled under Google's own advertising and privacy policies. The app also uses Meta Audience Network and Meta App Events, install and in-app-event and mediation SDKs, to serve ads and evaluate advertising effectiveness; they can send device and install-event signals to Meta.

When the Android location permission is granted (requested on every supported Android version to return Wi-Fi scan results), the Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network SDKs may collect and share the device's precise location with Google and Meta for ad targeting, subject to user consent and region. Users can withhold or revoke this permission in Android settings and adjust ad-consent choices in the app; the app's own diagnostic features do not require precise location.

Firebase processes operational events and push-notification delivery on behalf of the developer. Ping Tools Pro does not sell personal data and has no data-broker relationships. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Data minimization, access controls, event allowlisting, rate limiting and row-level security are applied, but absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Use Ping Tools Pro only on networks you own or are authorized to inspect. It is not designed to crack passwords, intercept communications, invade networks or obtain unauthorized access. It is a general technical utility, is not directed specifically to children and does not create user-managed accounts.
